Membership Categories and Fees
Membership is for a period of one year from the date of payment of appropriate membership dues.

WEMTA membership categories and annual fees:
Educational Members
Members employed in managerial positions or those requiring state certification such as teachers, library media specialists, instructional technology coordinators, curriculum coordinators, and other administrators. A monthly auto-renew option for $6.25 per month is also available.

Support Service Members
Members employed in educational positions that do not require state certification such as network managers, technicians, library media center assistants, and technology support and/or technology lab assistants.

Higher Education (NEW!)
Members employed in higher education serving in-service and pre-service educators or those serving in library media positions within higher education will gain unique access to legislative updates. Legislative updates will be emailed directly to members from WEMTA’s lobbyist, Michael Blumenfeld. These just-in-time updates include critical information impacting the PK12 educators, licensing, and funding. Those in higher education will greatly benefit from these regular updates.

Business/Commercial Members
Organizations that are engaged in commercial fields related to the purpose of the Association may, upon payment of dues, become Business Members of WEMTA with one designated representative who shall be entitled to all privileges according to educational or support members.
Additional members of the business or commercial enterprise who wish to become members may do so by paying an amount equal to the current educational membership.

Student Members
Students enrolled in a college, technical institute, or university education program on at least a half-time basis during the academic year may, upon verification of their enrollment by their institution, become student members.
Students enrolled on a less than half-time basis may also join the organization at the student rate upon verification of their enrollment by their institution. This exemption for a student who is enrolled at less than half-time is only for one membership year per applicant and does not apply to education professionals who are working on license renewal.
Individuals applying for student membership must ask their advisor to email confirmation of at least half-time student status to the WEMTA manager.

Retired Members
Members no longer actively employed and drawing retirement and/or social security who have been members of the Association for at least three years prior to retirement may become retired members of WEMTA.

Emeritus Members
Members who are no longer actively employed in the media profession and who have made a significant contribution to WEMA/WEMTA may be honored with emeritus status by a vote of the Board of Directors.

Honorary Members
Individuals who because of their position, office, or affiliation or individuals who have made a significant contribution to the Association or to the profession may be awarded honorary membership in the Association by the Board of Directors.
