WEMTA wishes to encourage strong leaders to gain the certification required for serving as Library Media Specialists in our schools. Applicants must be a member of WEMTA, currently enrolled in a Wisconsin library-media education program, working toward a 1902 license, living in Wisconsin, and planning to work in a Wisconsin school. Preference will be given to practicing, certified teachers in a Wisconsin school including those who are working as library media specialists on a provisional license.
A scholarship of $1,500, is provided to cover tuition costs for graduate level coursework leading to Library Media Specialist licensure. OR A scholarship of $1,000, is provided to cover tuition costs for undergraduate level coursework leading to Library Media Specialist licensure.
Applications must be received by December 20.
Recipients will be notified in February. Recipients are expected to serve on a WEMTA committee or participate in another WEMTA leadership role within two years of receipt of the scholarship.
