Kristine Klopp--AASL Innovative Reading Grant Recipient from WI
Kristine Klopp, librarian at Lindbergh Elementary School in Madison, won the 2012 American Association of School Librarians' (AASL) Innovative Reading Grant for her project, Squaring Off for Reading. The grant supports the planning and implementation of an innovative program for children to encourage reading. Kristine and the school's Educational Specialist will provide a summer reading program to encourage sustained reading over the summer. The library will be open late afternoons / early evening two days a week with interactive reading activities. Students will discuss their reading online via Moodle. AASL Seeking Pre-Conference workshop presenters for 16th Annual Conference in 2013—Deadline is June 15, 2012 AASL is seeking presenters for pre-conference workshops for the next conference which is taking place Nov. 13-17, 2013 in Hartford, CN. AASL Seeking presenters for ALA Annual Conference 2013—Deadline is June 1, 2012 The American Association of School Librarians (AASL) invites proposal submissions for 60- and 90-minute concurrent sessions and half- or full-day preconference workshops to be presented during the American Library Association (ALA) 2013 Annual Conference in Chicago, IL June 27-July 2, 2013. The submissions deadline is 5:00pm CDT on Friday, June 1, 2012. Notifications will be issued on or before Friday, July 13, 2012. More information is available at www.ala.org/aasl/aaslrfp.
