Jon Orech taught English for 24 years before becoming the instructional technology coordinator at Downers Grove South High School in Illinois. He also is an instructor for Aurora University where he teaches digital storytelling workshops. In the classroom, he has always promoted classroom innovations that increase student achievement. He is a frequent speaker at conferences; his presentations include a wide variety of topics including digital storytelling, online collaboration, and creating for authentic audience and purpose. Instead of “integrating technology,” he promotes changing classroom structures, Away from school, he savors the "Four F's": Family, Football, Fishing, and Food. He and his wife, Elizabeth, live in St Charles, IL and have three children, Tara, 22; Veronica, 19; and Jonathan, 16.
